Where Void Larva Cocoon spawns and how to find it

When the world is generatedPlaced on the ground in Breaker's Reach with a 0.5% chance per tile. Roughly 5 per 1,000 tiles of that ground.
Spawn events (respawning)Spawns on Muddled Moss (a spawning tile) during spawn events, which come round every 15–22 minutes, with a 0.2% chance per tile (needs at least 6 tiles of it, up to 1 per event).

How to find Void Larva Cocoon

  • Look where the ground in Breaker's Reach covers a wide area. The chance per tile is low, so larger areas of that ground are more likely to have one.
  • It comes back during spawn events after you kill it. However, it does not spawn within 6 tiles of a player, and placing blocks, walls, furniture or torches on the ground stops it from spawning there.
  • Lay Muddled Moss near your base to spawn it on purpose (spawning tile chances and layouts).
  • It is already placed in the scenes (buildings, ruins and so on) listed below when the world is generated.

Scenes where Void Larva Cocoon is placed from the start

Chances are per tile that meets the conditions. World generation and spawn events are from the spawn settings in the game's configuration files (Conf/Spawn, Core Keeper 1.3.0.6). Spawning near the player and the scenes it is placed in are from the Core Keeper Wiki (Fandom) Module:Spawns/data and SceneInfo (CC BY-SA 3.0); the spawn-event interval and the 6-tile rule are from the Wiki's "Spawning tiles" and "Mob farming" guides.
