SKILL
Core Keeper Skills and How to Level Them
Core Keeper has 12 skills. Each one levels up as you do the related action, and leveling up gives talent points that make that action even stronger. Open a skill to see its talents and how much XP it needs.

How skills work (in 3 lines)
- You gain XP in a skill each time you do its action: mining walls, running, fighting, crafting and so on (see each skill's in-game description below).
- Every 5 skill levels give you 1 talent point to spend on that skill's talents.
- Each skill caps at level 100. Reaching it gives 5 extra talent points, for 25 per skill in total. You can reset a skill's talent points for 200 Ancient Coins.
-
Mining
You gain XP when you mine walls and ore, but only when a hit deals more damage than the wall's hardness (its mining damage reduction).
-
Running
You gain XP by moving on your own feet. Mine carts, boats and conveyor belts do not count.
-
Melee combat
You gain XP when your melee weapon attacks hit an enemy.
-
Vitality
You gain XP when you kill enemies.
-
Crafting
You gain XP when you craft items yourself.
-
Range combat
You gain XP when your ranged weapon attacks hit an enemy.
-
Gardening
You gain XP when you harvest fully grown crops yourself.
-
Fishing
You gain XP each time you catch something, including things that are not fish.
-
Cooking
You gain XP when you take a finished dish out of the Cooking Pot yourself.
-
Magic
You gain XP when your magic weapon attacks hit an enemy.
-
Summoning
You gain XP when the minions you summoned attack enemies.
-
Explosions
You gain XP when an explosion you set off damages an enemy.

Skill leveling tips (how to level efficiently)
- Mining: each hit that deals 12 or more damage to a wall gives 1 XP. The Great Wall, Obsidian Blocks and Silicate Blocks give none. Digging the ground or breaking walls with bombs gives no XP. About 60,000 hits to Lv.100 (wall list).
- Running: XP for the distance you walk (about 500,000 tiles to Lv.100). Vehicles, riding animals, dodging and conveyor belts give none.
- Crafting: XP for each material used. An easy method is to collect wood automatically and keep crafting wooden bridges and the like (wood automation).
- Gardening: 1 XP for each fully grown crop you harvest. Mushrooms give none. About 6,000 harvests to Lv.100; run a big farm with sprinklers and hoes.
- Fishing: 1 XP per catch (fish or item alike). About 1,500 catches to Lv.100. Double the fishing value a spot needs gives the shortest wait, so level it at an easy spot nearby (how to fish).
- Cooking: XP when you take the dish out yourself (none with a Robot Arm). 5,000 dishes to Lv.100; set up several Cooking Pots.
- Melee combat, Range combat and Magic: XP each time an attack hits. Slower weapons give more per hit, so XP per second is about the same. Hitting a Training Dummy gives no XP. Burning damage gives none either.
- Vitality: XP when you kill enemies. Kills by burning give none, so land the final blow yourself.
