Messages you see when a session is full

  • The session is full: on consoles, a message tells you the session only supports a certain number of players and is currently full. Wait for someone to leave.
  • Too many connected players: on PC (for example on a dedicated server with a raised player limit), a warning says the number of players is above the supported count and problems may occur. The game may slow down.

How many players across different platforms?

Only platforms in the same family can play together (PC with PC, PS4 with PS5, Xbox One with Xbox Series, Switch with Switch 2). The limit depends on the host’s platform: Switch and Switch 2 players get 8 slots only when the host is on Switch 2 (4 if a Switch player hosts).

Platform support and prices can change with updates and sales. Checked in November 2026. Which players can join each other comes from the game’s own text (Core Keeper 1.3.0.6): the “Multiplayer connectivity” setting (Steam only, Epic only, GOG only, Microsoft only, All PC players) and the in-game patch note “The game currently does not support crossplay between PC and consoles.” Release dates, player counts and prices come from the platform stores and the publisher’s launch announcements.
