Switch vs. PC (Steam): what’s different

  • Same content (bosses, biomes, items): major updates come to all platforms for free (1.2 “Void & Voltage” was announced as a free update for every platform). Everything on this site applies to the Switch version too.
  • Player count: 8 on PC, 4 on Switch.
  • Who you can play with: the Switch version cannot play with friends on PC. To play together, you need to be on the same platform family.
  • Mods: mods use the PC-only Steam Workshop and mod.io systems, and we have found no information saying they work on Switch.
