How to Make an Egg Incubator
Egg Incubator: Copper Bar ×8, Glass Piece ×8
Made at Copper Workbench
It needs power to run. Connect it to a Electricity Generator with Electrical Wire (how to wire power).
How to Hatch a Pet Egg (Steps)
- Place the incubator and connect power.
- Open the incubator and put an uncracked pet egg in the input slot.
- Wait 30 minutes with power on, and one cracked egg is made.
- Hold the cracked egg and use it, and your pet is born.
- Put it in the pet slot on the equipment screen and it adventures with you (raising pets).
When an Egg Won't Hatch or Stops
- The power is off: the incubator only works with power. A power cut only pauses the egg; it picks up where it left off when the power returns. Check the wiring and the generator.
- The slot was emptied: taking the egg out of the slot loses all progress.
- You swapped in a different egg: it starts over from the beginning.
- You tried a farm animal egg: the incubator only accepts pet eggs. The plain Dodo Egg is a cooking ingredient and never becomes a pet (egg types).
Pet Egg Types and Where to Find Them
Which pet hatches from which egg, and where to get each egg, is listed in egg types and sources. For the strongest pets, see best pets.
Read from the game files of Core Keeper 1.3.0.6: which items the incubator accepts, the cracked egg's 1,800-second (30-minute) crafting time, what using a cracked egg gives, and the crafting code that clears progress when the input is gone. That a power cut only pauses incubation is from the Core Keeper Wiki (Fandom) page “Egg Incubator” (game 1.3, CC BY-SA 3.0).
