There are 3 kinds of eggs in Core Keeper
The egg you eat: Dodo Egg
Feed bugs to the farm animal Dodo and it lays one every 10 minutes. It is a cooking ingredient.
Pet eggs
Keep them in an Egg Incubator (needs power) for 30 minutes and a pet hatches. Farm animals never lay pet eggs.
Valuables named "egg"
Petrified Egg and Amber Fish Egg are valuables and never hatch.
Dodo Eggs: How to Get Them and What They're For
- How to get: feed bugs to the farm animal Dodo and an adult lays one every 10 minutes. Dodos live in Azeos' Wilderness and the Desert of Beginnings.
- Uses: eat it as is, or use it as a cooking ingredient in the Cooking Pot.
- Getting lots of them: the fastest way is to breed more dodos (breeding) and automate their food (Hardened Sap).
Pet Eggs and Where to Find Them
Put a pet egg in a powered Egg Incubator and after 30 minutes it becomes a cracked egg. Use the cracked egg and a pet is born.
Which pet is strongest is covered in best pets.

Animal names and descriptions are the game's official English text. What each animal eats and the biomes where Drohmbles, Strolly Polies, Dodos and Kelples spawn are read from the game files (Core Keeper 1.3.0.6). Where Moolins, Bambucks and Orexes live and other ranching mechanics (breeding, growth, products) are based on the Core Keeper Wiki (Fandom) page Cattle (CC BY-SA 3.0), summarized in our own words; we have not confirmed them in the game files.
