How pet talents work
9
9 random talents from a pool
When a pet hatches, 9 talents are picked at random from the pool for its type (the same one can appear more than once).
5
You can unlock 5
You get one point at Lv.2, 4, 6, 8 and 10, for 5 in total. A respec (200 Ancient Coins) does not change the 9 talents.
"Triple Trouble" is the best buff talent
For raising your own damage, "Triple Trouble" comes out on top for melee, ranged and magic builds in our calculation (talent order).

Unlocking and Resetting Pet Talents
- Spend talent points in the pet's talent window, opened with the info button next to the pet slot (the same window lets you rename the pet).
- You get one point every 2 levels, so 5 at the max level of 10 (raising pets).
- For 200 Ancient Coins you can refund all spent points. Only the points are refunded; the 9 rolled talents stay the same.
- The best talent order for each pet is on that pet's item page.
Talent names and effect text are the game's official English. "Applies to owner / to the pet itself" is our own note.
The talent roll (9 picks from the pet's pool), points per level and the reset cost are read from the game's program in Core Keeper 1.3.0.6. Where the talent window is opened is from the Core Keeper Wiki (Fandom) page “Pets” (Explorer's Guide 1.3 p.68).
Unless a note on the page says otherwise, numbers are read from the game files of Core Keeper 1.3.0.6 (prefabs, configuration files, drop tables and the game's program) and calculated by this site, including upgraded (per-level) values, sell prices and mana costs. Names and descriptions are the game's official English text. Only reinforcing materials, minion and pet attacks and some food values are based on the Core Keeper Wiki (Fandom) data (CC BY-SA 3.0).
