Summary

Levels in Core Keeper

  1. There is no character level

Your character itself has no level. Instead, each of the 12 skills has its own level (up to 100).

  2. Lv.20

    Gear has levels too

Weapons and armor have an item level and can be upgraded to Lv.20 at the Upgrade Station (some items cannot be upgraded).

  3. Lv.10

    Pets go up to Lv.10

Pets gain XP and level up to Lv.10. They get one talent point every 2 levels.

Skill levels themselves make your character stronger, as the game's skill descriptions say: “Excavating walls increases your mining damage”, “Running increases your movement speed”, “Defeating enemies makes you tougher and increases your maximum health” and so on. On top of that, talents bought with skill talent points raise your stats (each skill page lists them). Max health can be raised permanently with certain foods (items that raise max health).

Level caps and talent point counts are read from the game files of Core Keeper 1.3.0.6 (configuration files and the game's program); the skill quotes are the game's official English. That pet levels raise a combat pet's attack damage is from the Core Keeper Wiki (Fandom) page “Pets” (game 1.3, CC BY-SA 3.0).

Unless a note on the page says otherwise, numbers are read from the game files of Core Keeper 1.3.0.6 (prefabs, configuration files, drop tables and the game's program) and calculated by this site, including upgraded (per-level) values, sell prices and mana costs. Names and descriptions are the game's official English text. Only reinforcing materials, minion and pet attacks and some food values are based on the Core Keeper Wiki (Fandom) data (CC BY-SA 3.0).
