What are soul powers?
6
Earned by defeating Titans
Defeating each of the 6 Titans — Azeos, Omoroth, Ra-Akar, Druidra, Crydra, Pyrdra — gives you its soul.
Permanent powers
Each soul gives a power that stays active (a thunder beam on melee critical hits, +10% health and so on). You can switch each power on or off.
5 min
Collect it within 5 minutes
The soul that appears where the Titan died disappears after 5 minutes (300 seconds in the game data). Collect it before then.
All souls and their effects
| Soul | Titan | Effect | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soul of Azeos | Azeos the Sky Titan | 10% chance to spawn a thunder beam on melee critical hits | The soul of Azeos empowers you with the ancient thunder. |
| Soul of Omoroth | Omoroth the Sea Titan | 3% chance on range hit to spawn a tornado | The soul of Omoroth empowers you with the forces of the depth. |
| Soul of Ra-Akar | Ra-Akar the Sand Titan | 5% chance on melee or range hit to spawn an ancient projectile that follows the hit target and deals damage on impact | The soul of Ra-Akar empowers you with the ancient force of the desert. |
| Soul of Druidra | Druidra the Wild Titan | +10% health | The soul of Druidra imbues you with the enduring vitality of the ancient forests. |
| Soul of Crydra | Crydra the Ice Titan | +10% armor | The soul of Crydra engulfs you in the protective embrace of the ocean's depths. |
| Soul of Pyrdra | Pyrdra the Fire Titan | +10% damage | The soul of Pyrdra ignites your spirit with the unyielding fury of liquid stone. |
The beams, tornadoes and ancient projectiles made by soul powers also count as your attacks for skill XP: Azeos' thunder beam trains Melee, while the tornado and Ra-Akar's projectile train Range (even when a magic projectile triggered them) (skill leveling).
Godsent armor adds to three of the soul powers: the Godsent King Mask raises the chance for Ra-Akar's power, the Godsent King Breast Armor for Azeos' power and the Godsent King Pants Armor for Omoroth's power (values on each item page). The armor only raises the chance; you still need the soul itself, and it must be switched on.
- Careful with Azeos' soul near your base: its thunder beams travel through obstacles, damaging blocks on the way and even punching holes in the ceiling, so switch it off while you build or fight near things you want to keep.
- Rematches against Azeos: your own thunder beams can charge the healing crystals in Azeos' arena. Turn the soul off for the rematch if the boss keeps healing.
How to collect a soul
- When you defeat a Titan, its soul appears where it died.
- Walk up and stand directly under the floating soul. A short animation plays, and the chat shows "Gained soul of …!" once the power is yours.
- The soul disappears after 5 minutes (its lifetime in the game data is 300 seconds), whether or not anyone has picked it up.
Gathering the souls is also the goal of the story. The Core tells you: "There shalt thou be guided to the titans, whose souls thou must gather."
Turning soul powers on and off
A soul power takes effect once you collect the soul. Each collected power can be switched on or off in the Souls tab of the game menu. The tab sits next to the Skills tab and appears after you first talk to the Core.
Effects, values and the 5-minute limit are read from the game files of Core Keeper 1.3.0.6 (the game's program and the soul prefabs). Soul names, descriptions and effect text are the game's official English. How souls are picked up, where the Souls tab is, the skill XP from soul attacks and the tips about Azeos' beams are based on the Core Keeper Wiki (Fandom) pages "Souls", "Thunder Beam" and "Guides/Skill experience" (game 1.3, CC BY-SA 3.0), written in our own words.
