How to teleport
Between waypoints and portals
You can teleport as often as you like between activated Ancient Waypoints and Portals you build and place yourself.
Back to the Core: Recall Idol
Using a Recall Idol teleports you to the Core from anywhere (it is used up).
Beds set your respawn point
A bed is not a teleport destination; it sets where you respawn after dying.

- The Recall Idol is canceled if you walk or switch hotbar slots while it is channeling (the idol is not used up).
- Waypoints and portals form one network. You can travel between a waypoint and a portal in either direction.
Building a teleport network with portals
- Place a portal where you want a destination: a distant base, a mining site, the edge of your exploration and so on.
- Wait about 6 minutes: a newly placed portal needs about 6 minutes before it can be used (the in-game description says 10 minutes). This wait only happens when you place it.
- Teleport: use a portal or waypoint and pick the destination.
Because the waypoint at the Core can be one end of the trip, a single portal is enough to travel between your base and the Core.
Tips for teleporting early in the game
Even before you can craft portals, you can break the Ancient Waypoint near Glurch with a Crude Drill, pick it up, and place it at a distant base to teleport between it and the Core (how to move waypoints).
