Ancient Waypoint notes
- Once someone activates a waypoint, every player can use it, not only the one who found it.
- Travel needs at least two activated waypoints: one to leave from and one to arrive at.
- A waypoint you pick up and place again has to recharge for roughly 6 minutes before it works, like a Portal (its in-game description still says 10 minutes).
- Walk up to any new waypoint you find before leaving the area, so that it is activated.
- Waypoints next to bosses work as travel points, but you do not respawn at them.
- Your respawn point is set by sleeping in a Bed.
- If you want more destinations without moving the waypoints you already have, build Portals.
- Portals and waypoints share one teleport network.
- After moving a waypoint, let it finish recharging at its new spot before you count on that route.
- Moving a waypoint removes the destination at its old location.
- The waypoint near Glurch is close to the Core, which makes it a handy one to relocate to a far-off base, mining outpost or exploration route.
- A tin-tier Crude Drill is enough for this; the scarlet-tier Drill also works.
- A drill works even if no pickaxe of yours can get past the waypoint's mining damage threshold.
- Place a drill next to the waypoint with its tip pointing at it.
- Power the drill from a generator, adding Electrical Wire if needed.
- Drills push dropped items out behind them, so look for the waypoint there.
- Place the waypoint where you want the new destination and wait for it to charge before using it.
- The activated waypoint at the Core acts as the other end of the route.
- The one waypoint that can never be broken is the one just in front of the Core.
- If you move Glurch's waypoint, you also lose the quick route to Glurch's arena.
