Copper Ore Boulder notes
- To get ore from it, put a Crude Drill or Drill on one of its sides and connect it to power.
- Several drills can share a boulder, and each one speeds up the ore output.
- One boulder takes up to 8 drills, two on each of its four sides.
- The output rate depends on drill type and number, placement, and whether hits overlap on the same boulder tile.
- Each additional drill still adds ore, but the gain per drill shrinks as you add more.
- Once the drills have power, the boulder starts shaking and clangs on every hit.
- When mined out, the boulder breaks and disappears.
- Point a Crude Drill or a Drill at the boulder and power it, running Electrical Wire from a generator if needed.
- Before building the collection route, check that the drill is powered and ore comes out behind it.
- Check that both drilling and collection work before adding more drills.
- If the collection route is blocked, extra drills will not solve it.
- The maximum of 8 refers to the positions around the boulder; you do not need 8 drills to start.
- More drills raise the boulder's output, but the gain shrinks with each one.
- The Furnace, Smelter Kiln and Fury Forge all turn ore into bars, but each handles different ores.
- Send each ore to a smelter that accepts that metal.
- Furnace: Copper Ore, Iron Ore and Tin Ore.
- Smelter Kiln: Gold Ore, Scarlet Ore and Octarine Ore.
- Fury Forge: Galaxite Ore, Solarite Ore, Pandorium Ore and Relucite Ore.
- The Robot Arm must face the right way to load ore into the smelter.
- A smelter starts working on its own as soon as it receives ore it can process.
- On the map, an ore boulder appears as a single-colored 2×2 square.
- No ore: check that there is power and the drill faces the boulder.
- Do not judge a new setup after watching it for just a few seconds.
- Ore building up behind the drill: check the belt direction, the Robot Arm's direction and power, and free space at the destination.
- Ore reaches the smelter but is not processed: check that the smelter supports that ore.
- The Furnace, Smelter Kiln and Fury Forge each process different ores.
- More drills did not speed things up as expected: drills give diminishing returns.
- Placement and whether hits land together also affect output.
- The boulder disappeared: it has been mined out.
- Move the mining rig to another boulder.
