Galaxite Ore Boulder notes
- To mine it, put a Crude Drill or Drill on one of its sides and connect the drill to a power source.
- Aim a Crude Drill or Drill at the boulder and wire it to a generator if needed.
- Before building the collection route, confirm that the drill is powered and ore drops out behind it.
- Make sure drilling and collection both work before you add drills.
- If collection is jammed, extra drills will not fix it.
- The cap of eight drills is the number of spots around the boulder, not a requirement for drilling to start.
- The Furnace, Smelter Kiln and Fury Forge all turn ore into bars, but each accepts different ores.
- Pick the smelter that matches the ore.
- Set the Robot Arm in the right direction so that it can feed the smelter.
- A smelter runs by itself once it receives ore it can handle.
- Mining speed changes with drill type and count, placement, and whether hits overlap on one boulder tile.
- Once the drills are powered, the boulder starts to shake and clinks on each hit.
- A fully mined boulder breaks and disappears.
- Ore boulders look like a single-colored 2×2 square on the map.
- No ore: check that there is power and the drill faces the boulder.
- Give a new rig time and compare it with the drilling rate tables instead of judging it after a few seconds.
- Ore collecting behind the drill: check the belt and arm direction, the arm's power, and space at the destination.
- Ore reaches the smelter but is not smelted: check whether that smelter handles that ore.
- The three smelters accept different ores.
- Placement and overlapping hits also affect mining speed.
- The boulder vanished: it has been mined out.
- Move the mining rig to another boulder.
