Coral Wood Seed notes

  • About 10 minutes after the seed is planted and watered, the plant matures into a Coral Root.
  • Harvest the Coral Wood it spreads and leave the central Coral Root alone, and it keeps producing wood.
  • For automatic harvesting, aim drills at the spread Coral Wood rather than at the central plant.
  • As long as the ground beneath is dirt, grass, turf, clay, limestone or crystal, the Coral Root keeps spreading Coral Wood in random directions every 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Coral Wood Seeds can only be planted in tilled beach ground.

These notes cover behavior that the game files do not show directly. They are based on facts from the Core Keeper Wiki (Fandom) page "Coral Wood Seed" (CC BY-SA 3.0), rewritten in this site's own words.

* "Coral wood root": provisional names. The in-game name has not been confirmed, so this site named the source after its internal name in the drop tables.

"Chance" is the chance to get at least one of this item per try (opening one chest, defeating one enemy, one catch). A "guaranteed group" is the group of a chest or boss from which exactly one item always drops; it does not mean this item always drops (the chance of it being picked from that group is shown in small text). Only items that always drop are marked "Guaranteed". Fishing means catches with a fishing rod, separate from enemy and boss drops. Calculated from the game's drop tables (Conf/Loot, 1.3.0.6) the same way the game rolls them.
