WAYPOINTS

Ancient Waypoint Locations in Core Keeper: Full List, Activation and Moving Them

Every place an Ancient Waypoint appears, from the Core to boss area entrances, plus how to activate and relocate them.

Data: the game files (version 1.3.0.6)

Summary

Where are the Ancient Waypoints?

  1. One right in front of the Core

There is always one just in front of the Core (this one cannot be broken).

  2. 11 locations

At the entrance to boss areas

You find them in small scenes at the entrance to most boss areas, such as Glurch, Ghorm, Malugaz and Azeos.

  3. Walk near it to activate

A waypoint only works after you walk close to it. Always step near one before you leave the area.

How to activate and use Ancient Waypoints

  • Activating: walk near it. Once one player activates it, everyone can use it.
  • Teleporting: with two or more activated waypoints you can teleport between them. They also connect to Portals (how to teleport).
  • Waypoints cannot be crafted. To add more destinations, build portals.
  • Waypoints near bosses are not respawn points. Your respawn point is set with a bed.

Moving a waypoint (break it with a drill and pick it up)

Waypoints placed in the world can be picked up if you have enough mining damage, or if you break them with a placed drill (the one at the Core cannot be broken). Even a Crude Drill works, regardless of your pickaxe. The waypoint near Glurch is close to the Core, so moving it to a distant base before you can build portals is very handy.

After you place it again, it takes about 6 minutes before it can be used (the in-game description says 10 minutes). Once moved, the old location is no longer a destination.
