BASE LAYOUT

Core Keeper Base Layout: Arranging Stations, Chests, Farms, Pens, Merchant Rooms and Mob Farms

A Core Keeper base layout built around the game's rules: how far stations reach, sprinkler range, merchant room size and spawn chunks.

Data: the game files (version 1.3.0.6)

Summary

Base layout rules

  1. 10 tiles

    Chests around your stations

Stations can craft from chests within 10 tiles (the nearest 20), so the basic layout is chests arranged around a central station.

  2. 5×5

    Farms in sprinkler blocks

One sprinkler covers 24 tiles. Line up 5×5 blocks. Keep them separate from cattle pens.

  3. 16×16

    Fit mob farms to chunks

Spawn tiles are counted per 16×16 chunk, so build along the chunk borders.

Example: splitting your base into zones

  1. Workshop: workbench, furnace, cooking pot and salvage and repair station in the middle, with chests around them (within 10 tiles).
  2. Living area: a bed and a row of small merchant rooms (64 tiles or less) (residents (merchants)).
  3. Farm: rows of 5×5 sprinkler blocks (farm automation).
  4. Ranch: fenced in, away from the farm (how to raise cattle).
  5. Factory: automation with drills, conveyor belts and furnaces (automation guide).
  6. Mob farm: aligned to 16×16 chunks, away from the living area (mob farms).

Chest range and count (10 tiles, 20 chests), the sprinkler's 5×5 area, the 16×16 spawn chunks, the portal's 360-second charge-up, what cattle eat and how roots spread are read from the game files of Core Keeper 1.3.0.6 (the game's program and prefabs). The merchant room size and the 6-tile no-spawn distance around players could not be checked in the game data; they are based on the Core Keeper Wiki (Fandom) pages Merchants and Spawning tiles (CC BY-SA 3.0). The example layout is this site's own suggestion.

Unless a note on the page says otherwise, numbers are read from the game files of Core Keeper 1.3.0.6 (prefabs, configuration files, drop tables and the game's program) and calculated by this site, including upgraded (per-level) values, sell prices and mana costs. Names and descriptions are the game's official English text. Only reinforcing materials, minion and pet attacks and some food values are based on the Core Keeper Wiki (Fandom) data (CC BY-SA 3.0).
