Tome of Decay notes

  • Its hands circle you about 2 tiles out and damage enemies they touch.
  • They also deal radiation damage within a 5-tile radius.
  • After a contact hit, a minion waits 0.5 seconds (base) before it can hit again.
  • Minions have no fixed lifetime; you can dismiss them yourself.
  • The first radiation tick lands 1 second in, then another every 2 seconds for as long as the enemy stays affected.
  • Each aura tick deals 61 damage at the tome's base level of 17, and 70 at level 20.
  • When several radiation auras overlap, only the strongest counts.

These notes cover behavior that the game files do not show directly. They are based on facts from the Core Keeper Wiki (Fandom) page "Tome of Decay" (CC BY-SA 3.0), rewritten in this site's own words.

What you get from salvaging Tome of Decay (Salvage and Repair Station)

Tome of Decay can be salvaged. Salvaging it gives the following items.

For each material, the amount is "amount used to craft × 0.49 (lower when durability is down, 0.3 at 0 durability) × the item's multiplier", and a fraction is the chance of one more (2.4 means 2, with a 40% chance of 3). The range is from 0 durability to full durability (items without durability always count as full). Scrap parts are a fixed number set by the item level. All items that can be salvaged are listed in salvaging.

Druidra the Wild Titan Boss drop The Shimmering Frontier 1 9.9%
Crydra the Ice Titan Boss drop The Shimmering Frontier 1 9.8%
Pyrdra the Fire Titan Boss drop The Shimmering Frontier 1 9.7%

"Chance" is the chance to get at least one of this item per try (opening one chest, defeating one enemy, one catch). A "guaranteed group" is the group of a chest or boss from which exactly one item always drops; it does not mean this item always drops (the chance of it being picked from that group is shown in small text). Only items that always drop are marked "Guaranteed". Fishing means catches with a fishing rod, separate from enemy and boss drops. Calculated from the game's drop tables (Conf/Loot, 1.3.0.6) the same way the game rolls them.
