Fireball Staff notes
- A fully charged secondary attack launches an exploding fireball with boosted damage and a base blast radius of 1.5 tiles.
- At the staff's base level of 8, the blast deals 546 base mining damage.
- At level 19 without reinforcement, each Fireball Staff projectile deals 415 to 507 base magic damage, against 411 to 501 for the Scholar's Staff.
- Those figures do not include damage modifiers.
- What sets them apart: the Fireball Staff burns, the Scholar's Staff gets a three-shot charged secondary attack.
- The Fireball Staff's charged secondary attack can also be used for mining.
- To damage a Radiation Crystal with a direct hit, the Fireball Staff's projectile has to exceed 806 damage before the crystal's damage reduction.
- Each such direct hit deals at most 1 damage.

What you get from salvaging Fireball Staff (Salvage and Repair Station)
Fireball Staff can be salvaged. Salvaging it gives the following items.
For each material, the amount is "amount used to craft × 0.49 (lower when durability is down, 0.3 at 0 durability) × the item's multiplier", and a fraction is the chance of one more (2.4 means 2, with a 40% chance of 3). The range is from 0 durability to full durability (items without durability always count as full). Scrap parts are a fixed number set by the item level. All items that can be salvaged are listed in salvaging.
How to get Fireball Staff (Boss drop, Enemy drop, Chests & pedestals)
Boss drop (1) Enemy drop (1) Chests & pedestals (1)
| Source | Type | Biome | Amount | Chance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Malugaz the Corrupted | Boss drop | The Forgotten Ruins | 1 | 17.4% |
| Caveling Shaman | Enemy drop | The Forgotten Ruins | 1 | 1.5% |
| Iron Chest | Chests & pedestals | The Clay Caves, The Forgotten Ruins | 1 | 7.5%6.7% from the guaranteed group, 0.25% per regular roll |
"Chance" is the chance to get at least one of this item per try (opening one chest, defeating one enemy, one catch). A "guaranteed group" is the group of a chest or boss from which exactly one item always drops; it does not mean this item always drops (the chance of it being picked from that group is shown in small text). Only items that always drop are marked "Guaranteed". Fishing means catches with a fishing rod, separate from enemy and boss drops. Calculated from the game's drop tables (Conf/Loot, 1.3.0.6) the same way the game rolls them.
