Abyssal Scepter notes

  • The Legendary Scepter Temple has five special Pressure Pedestals, and this scepter belongs on one of them.
  • A hit curses susceptible targets for 8 seconds, making minions deal 40% more damage to them.
  • More hits reset the duration.
  • Its regular shot moves 8 tiles per second, and one that has not hit anything within 1 s simply vanishes.
  • Hitting a non-boss target also gives it an 8-second death-burst mark.
  • If you are credited with the kill while both the mark and the curse are still on the target, it explodes with a base radius of 1.5 tiles.

These notes cover behavior that the game files do not show directly. They are based on facts from the Core Keeper Wiki (Fandom) page "Abyssal Scepter" (CC BY-SA 3.0), rewritten in this site's own words.

What you get from salvaging Abyssal Scepter (Salvage and Repair Station)

Abyssal Scepter can be salvaged. Salvaging it gives the following items.

For each material, the amount is "amount used to craft × 0.49 (lower when durability is down, 0.3 at 0 durability) × the item's multiplier", and a fraction is the chance of one more (2.4 means 2, with a 40% chance of 3). The range is from 0 durability to full durability (items without durability always count as full). Scrap parts are a fixed number set by the item level. All items that can be salvaged are listed in salvaging.

How to get Abyssal Scepter (Fishing, Enemy drop, Chests & pedestals, Breakable objects)

Fishing (1) Enemy drop (1) Chests & pedestals (1) Breakable objects (1)

SourceTypeBiomeAmountChance
Fishing in The Sunken Sea (non-fish catches) Fishing The Sunken Sea 1 4.6%
Searpent Enemy drop The Sunken Sea 1 4.5%
City dungeon chest Chests & pedestals The Sunken Sea, Forlorn Metropolis 1 6.2%
Large Metropolis Crate Breakable objects Sunken City 1 2.6%

* "City dungeon chest": provisional names. The in-game name has not been confirmed, so this site named the source after its internal name in the drop tables.

"Chance" is the chance to get at least one of this item per try (opening one chest, defeating one enemy, one catch). A "guaranteed group" is the group of a chest or boss from which exactly one item always drops; it does not mean this item always drops (the chance of it being picked from that group is shown in small text). Only items that always drop are marked "Guaranteed". Fishing means catches with a fishing rod, separate from enemy and boss drops. Calculated from the game's drop tables (Conf/Loot, 1.3.0.6) the same way the game rolls them.
