What can you salvage, and what do you get?
There are 1,023 salvageable items in total, mostly weapons, armor, accessories and placeables (stations, furniture and so on).
Salvaging at the Salvage and Repair Station gives you other items back, much like the materials used to make the item.
Each crafting material comes back at 30% to 49% of the amount used to craft the item: 49% at full durability, less as durability runs down (items without durability always use 49%). If the result has a fraction, that fraction is the chance of getting one more, so the amount is shown as a range such as "×4-8".
Every salvage gives Scrap Parts: 4 × the item's level for gear with durability (adjusted by its repair cost), otherwise 1.

An amount like "×4-8" means: the low end is what a fully worn-out item gives, the high end what an item at full durability can give when the extra-one roll succeeds. Some items also have a multiplier on top of the 30-49%.

Salvaging tips
- Gear and placeables you no longer use can be turned back into materials. Put them in the Salvage and Repair Station to salvage them (each item page shows how to craft it).
- Durability matters. Gear at full durability returns up to 49% of its materials; worn-out gear returns as little as 30%. Scrap Parts do not depend on durability.
- The same station also repairs and reinforces gear. Upgrading is done at the Upgrade Station; see upgrading and reinforcing gear.
